Live this Wednesday — the Hank Hehmsoth Trio brings modern swing and classic jazz to Nica on 4th, Austin’s newest cocktail lounge named for Baroness Kathleen Annie Pannonica “Nica” de Koenigswarter — the legendary jazz patron, photographer, and champion of bebop. In addition to performing, pianist and jazz historian Hank Hehmsoth will share brief stories about Baroness Nica’s extraordinary role in jazz history, pairing live music with selections of jazz compositions dedicated to her by artists she supported. Enjoy selections from five acclaimed albums, artful improvisation, and a relaxed listening-room atmosphere where music and story meet.
